It’s official: I’ve completed my filings and have established Floating Point Marine Services, LLC as a California Company. There is still a lot to do to get the business spun up, but I greatly appreciate the support I’ve received from friends and family as I navigate the process.
In a way, establishing the business may seem a bit premature, but I view it as a crucial step for the direction in which I want to head. While I may not be ready to offer all of the services I intend to offer in the future, some of the organizations I want to be affiliated with require or encourage having a business established. I’m also incurring a fair amount of expense related to training, certification and tool acquisition, and it makes sense to keep these expenses cleanly separated from my personal finances.
In the meantime, I’m available to help clients assess their marine electrical and electronics needs, to perform qualified troubleshooting and installation, and to refer folks to trusted parties in situations where I do not yet feel qualified to perform work directly.
This is a very exciting development for me. Thanks again to all of those who have supported me along the way.
